The minister noted that during their leadership for a year, they had implemented several programs and policies. He also drew attention to several evaluations that were conducted in order to improve resolution of land issues.
"This whole year we learned, we do evaluation, we formulate policies, and eventually we execute policies that adhere to three directives from Mr President (Joko Widodo) to pursue the Complete Systematic Land Registration Program (PTSL), Land Conflict and Dispute Resolution, as well as Nusantara City Development," Tjahjanto noted in a written statement received here on Friday.
Tjahjanto and Antoni implemented three priority policies -- which meet three directives from President Joko Widodo -- in all of the ministry's units, he remarked.
The three directives in question are the Complete Systematic Land Registration Program (PTSL), Land Conflict and Dispute Resolution, as well as support for Nusantara City development, he elaborated.
He deemed PTSL as a revolutionary program, as it managed to increase the rate of land registration, from initially 500 thousand certificates a year to up to seven to eight million certificates annually.
Of the total 126 million plots of land in Indonesia, 103.1 million have been registered and certified, he stated. It leads to national economic contribution from taxes, with as much as Rp5,574 trillion (US$372.9 billion) being funneled, the minister pointed out.
He also confirmed that he along with the deputy minister had managed to save 6.7 million square meters of plot, worth Rp1.08 trillion (US$72.2 million), from being seized by land mafia.
The "For People for Indonesia Policy" commitment is also applied to land redistribution, he stated. He cited Suku Anak Dalam as an example in which 744 families of the tribe received plots from the redistribution after experiencing 35 years of conflicts.
The success of the policy is emulated in other places as well, such as for the Wonorejo people in Blora that finally have legal status of their land that they occupy since 1947, he noted.
Tjahjanto and Antoni's persuasive leadership also brought success in gaining land for the Nusantara City development, he remarked.
Minister Tjahjanto explained that the land is for the logistics port, Sepaku Semoi Dam, wastewater processing installation, waste processing site, and others. Of the 12 land projects in Nusantara City, six have been completed, and six others are targeted to be ready by the end of 2023.
"We wholeheartedly pursue the mandate from Mr President Jokowi because we know that the (receiving end) of that policy is for the people and for Indonesia," the minister concluded.
