"The first is social assistance. Bank Indonesia is committed to continuing to encourage the development and implementation of digitized social assistance programs," she informed at the Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI) Symposium here on Saturday.
In addition, BI is committed to prioritizing customer-centric interconnection and the interoperability of omnichannel experiences as well as the implementation of an end-to-end integrated data center to boost the digitalization of social assistance programs.
The second area is the electronification of regional government transactions, which is aimed at supporting the digital payment of taxes as well as digital public services that are synergized with the regional development bank transformation program.
The acceleration and expansion of regional government transactions are directed at realizing better financial management to improve the potential of regional income.
Meanwhile, the last area is the transportation field. BI will assist with transportation digitalization to produce an omnichannel digital payment mechanism and encourage the replication of the business model in all regions.
DPI has an essential role in encouraging inclusive financial transformation and economic growth that serve as a strong basis for digital innovation, supporting individuals' and businesses' access to financial services, and accelerating productivity, she said.
Hendarta further said that making the most of DPI's potential would help accelerate financial inclusion, support easier and faster access to financial services, and strengthen sustainable economic growth.
She highlighted that, in the utilization and development of DPI, consumer protection must be accorded priority.
The BI deputy governor further said that a safe, inclusive, and innovative digital economic and financial ecosystem can be built with the strong involvement and cooperation of the government, financial institutions, industry players, and consumers.
"Therefore, let us work together to realize the vision of expanding financial inclusion, increasing economic productivity, and (presenting) strong consumer protection in the digital era," she added.
