"BPJPH continues to collaborate with related parties, especially in terms of its monitoring," chief of Halal and Entrepreneurs Auditor Guide at BPJPH, Khotibul Umam, said here on Saturday.
Chief of Uhamka's Postgraduate Management Magister Study Program, Sunarta, said that it is very important for the public to know about issues related to the halal mandate in 2024.
To support awareness about them, one of the efforts Uhamka is making is holding national seminars to educate the public on halal certification for micro and small enterprises (MSEs).
"What are the scopes that will be targeted in relation to the halal mandate issue in 2024. This is important for the people to know," Sunarta said.

Meanwhile, Umam informed that BPJPH has opened a quota of one million for Free Halal Certification (Sehati) in 2023. The quota is intended for MSEs applying for halal certification through the halal statement (self-declare) mechanism for entrepreneurs.
"In the effort to expedite halal certification for MSEs, synergy with various parties is necessary," he said.
"This is especially important since, in 2024, Indonesia is aiming to become the biggest halal product producing country in the world and have all products have halal certificate," he added.
The important points within halal certification comprise pre- and post-halal certification monitoring. In the pre-stage, monitoring will be directed toward ensuring the materials have adhered to sharia rules.
Meanwhile, in the post-stage, monitoring is undertaken to ensure that the product does not experience changes in terms of components and composition.
"This halal certification mandate applies to all levels of entrepreneurs, starting from micro, small, medium to large enterprises. Because of this, in addition to the certification campaign, monitoring is also important to be done," Umam explained.
