Nasution welcomed Osman and his entourage at the Tjong A Fie Mansion in Medan, the capital city of North Sumatra, on Monday.
During the meeting, Nasution highlighted some programs being developed by his administration, including medical tourism.
"To support our medical tourism program, we are striving to develop health facilities in the city by offering ease of investment in the health sector," the mayor said.
He is confident that the ease of investment will attract investors from Singapore to invest in Medan City.
Nasution expressed his apologies for the traffic jams in the city due to the revitalization of the Kesawan heritage area.
"We are revitalizing the heritage area to restore its function. We want the Kesawan area to be a center of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and a shopping street that becomes a tourist attraction," he said.
Nasution also placed a traditional Malay headgear on Osman, while his wife, Kahiyang Ayu, placed a traditional fabric on Osman's spouse, Sadiah binti Shahal.
Osman said that he had visited Medan several times to strengthen relations between Singapore and Indonesia.
He also remarked that Singapore is one of the biggest investors in Indonesia, including in the North Sumatra Province.
Therefore, he is certain that many more Singaporean investors will invest in Medan's medical sector.
"We will always support Indonesia's advancement. As a neighboring country, Indonesia's greatness is also Singapore's greatness," he affirmed.
The meeting was also attended by some Medan officials, Singapore's Mayor of South East District Mohd Fahmi bin Aliman, Singapore's Consul-General in Medan Edmund Chia Keng Wei, and Tjong A Fie's descendants.
