"Soon it will be hosted (preliminary hearing)," Head of the Public Relations Division at the National Police Inspector General Sandi Nugroho stated here on Saturday.
Nugroho noted that currently, they were awaiting results from the forensic laboratory on the viral video of the education institution.
Moreover, the police are still collecting witness testimonies and pieces of evidence to ensure that the public can gain the best insights into the ongoing incident, he explained.
"So please, wait for it, be patient, until there is a more complete statement on it," he stressed.
As for the allegations of money laundering on that institution, he said that the police is more focused on the reported case of alleged blasphemy.
"It is better for us to focus about the issue by involving the relevant stakeholders in explaining all that transpired," he remarked.
On Friday, July 14, investigators from the directorate of general crimes at the National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency summoned four witnesses to be questioned regarding the case of alleged blasphemy perpetrated by Panji Gumilang, Al Zaytun Boarding School's manager.
Head of Public Information at the National Police's Public Relations Division Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan stated that the four witnesses are CHMP, LH, C, and FAW. Two of them, SHMP and LH, responded to the summoning, and they were questioned for over 10 hours, from 10 a.m. local time.
Currently, the investigators have checked more than 20 witnesses that include expert witnesses on language, tech, crime, sociology, and religious affairs, he remarked.
Ramadhan noted that the investigators are still handling the case of alleged blasphemy by Gumilang and have yet to probe the money laundering allegations.
