"Hopefully, the inauguration of MPPs in four districts and one city will bring about positive impacts to local residents," Minister Anas said in a statement received here on Tuesday.
In Tulungagung district on Tuesday, he attended the inauguration ceremony of the five MPPs: Tulungagung district MPP, Malang district MPP, Pacitan district MPP, Sampang district MPP, and Pasuruan city MPP.
The five additional MPPs took the total number of MPPs in East Java to 22 and nationally to 139.
Minister Anas reiterated that the establishment of MPPs is one of the initiatives being prioritized by President Joko Widodo in efforts to implement impactful bureaucratic reform in the country. MPPs integrate the services offered by government offices into a single one-stop service.
"MPPs integrate various public services. Their existence eliminates the public need to go from one office to another to enjoy the services offered. Now, the public can access various services from a single place, some of the MPPs are even offering online services," he elaborated.
However, he informed that the ministry has continued to further develop the concept in the hopes of enabling people to access all public services easily from their smartphones.
According to Anas, the ministry's efforts to develop MPPs are in line with the President's directive to ensure that the bureaucracy should be reformed in a manner that it has a concrete impact on the public.
Therefore, he stressed that MPPs should help regional governments improve the quality of public services to stimulate economic growth in regions.
Meanwhile, Tulungagung district head Maryoto Birowo, on behalf of the governments of the five districts and one city, said that the existence of MPPs strengthens the governments' motivation to integrate innovations into actual services.
"Today, the public can enjoy fast integrated services in one building. Hopefully, the five new MPPs will also positively affect investment, job vacancy growth, and the people's welfare," he remarked.
