Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) has carried out research on educational innovations made under women's leadership in five women-led regions, namely East Java province, Jombang district, Mojokerto city, Banyuwangi district, and Tegal district.

The five regions are among those that were previously categorized as the most innovative regions by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

In a statement released here on Tuesday, head of the BRIN's Governance, Economic, and Public Welfare Research Organization, Agus Eko Nugroho, said that the research was aimed at assessing women leaders' innovation in the education sector.

The research also aimed to assess the innovation's implications for the education sector's performance in the region.

"The novelty element of the research is the aspect of innovation in the education sector carried out by female regional heads in an effort to improve the access and quality of primary and secondary education," Nugroho said.
