Jakarta (ANTARA) - State-owned airport operator Angkasa Pura II (AP II) is improving the services and facilities at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten, through the digitalization of operations for travelers.

AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin stated that the digital transformation being conducted covers three programs: Customer Exploration (CX), Operational Exploration (OX), and Digital Exploration (DX).

"To accelerate digitalization at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport, AP II on August 18, 2023, inaugurated the formation of the Advanced Data Analytics & Artificial Intelligence for Data-Driven Decision team," Awaluddin noted in his statement here on Saturday.

Awaluddin explained that for the DX program, a team has been tasked with preparing data, processing and analyzing data, as well as visualizing data with advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI).

The team will focus on certain types of data to conduct three analyses: Traffic Movement Analytics, Passenger Sentiment Analytics, and Customer Behavior Analytics.

Awaluddin remarked that earlier, this data was only partially explored, but with the existence of the Airport ID service and the support of advanced data analytics and AI, Soekarno-Hatta Airport can explore data for customer needs more thoroughly.

"AP II would know more about travelers and vice versa. Maybe like the Know Your Customer (KYC) principle," he remarked.

He further said that through digital transformation, data collection could be conducted better to be processed and analyzed with advanced data analytics and AI to present information quickly with very high accuracy.

Through Traffic Movement Analytics, Soekarno-Hatta Airport can operate more efficiently, which has a positive impact on stakeholders, including airline companies, and enable the airport to offer the best services to travelers.

Moreover, the Passenger Sentiment Analytics explores priorities that should be presented in the airport's services, operations, and facility improvement.

Furthermore, Customer Behavior Analytics is used to find out the preferences of customers or travelers in commercial aspects, for instance, which tenants are frequently visited by customers at the airport.

Thus, it is expected that travelers can have a seamless journey experience at the airport.

"Travelers can find everything according to their preferences, starting from services, commercial tenants, and existing facilities," he stated.

He noted that the improvement in services and facilities would make the airport's operations more efficient and boost business performance.

The implementation of advanced data analytics and AI for data-driven decisions will also be carried out through collaboration with well-known partners in the field of technology.

Awaluddin expressed hope that the efforts of AP II by involving advanced data analytics and AI would contribute to raising the competitiveness of Indonesia's airport sector.
