West Manggarai, NTT (ANTARA) - State-owned electricity company PT PLN has prepared 181 personnel as well as equipment to support the 17th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime (AMMTC) in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

The 17th AMMTC is scheduled to be held from August 20–23, 2023.

"The PLN Main Unit for the NTT Region has deployed 181 personnel in all units to stand by to ensure that the electricity supply is in a reliable and safe condition," the general manager of PLN NTT Region Main Unit, I Gede Agung Sindu Putra, said when contacted in Kupang, NTT, on Saturday.

PLN is carrying out electricity security measures based on several criteria to implement layer one to layer four security. The electricity reliability standby period will extend from August 18 to August 25.

To make the supply of electricity run more smoothly, PLN has worked to improve the reliability of electricity generation, transmission, and distribution installations by carrying out preventive assessments and maintenance, several inspections, and screenings, as well as High Voltage Overhead Power Line patrols and night patrols.

The electrical power supply for the Flores Island System is 99.18 megawatts (MW), with the highest average peak load or maximum usage at 83.93 MW.

"This means that there is still a power supply reserve of 15.25 MW," he said.

Manager of the PLN Customer Service Implementation Unit for Western Flores Saut Pardomuan Pandjaitan said PLN has readied equipment and facilities for the meeting, comprising 9 command posts, 13 uninterruptible power supply (UPS) devices, 3 generator sets, a mobile substation, and 7 public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU).

The personnel who have been readied will also be supported by additional personnel from the PLN Customer Service Implementation Unit for Eastern Flores, PLN's Generation Implementation Unit of Flores, as well as workers from the PLN NTT Region Main Unit.
