Providing details about the agreements, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi, who accompanied President Widodo at the bilateral meeting, said they cover e-commerce support for businesses as well as cooperation in the fields of industry, agriculture, fisheries, science and technology, and innovation.
"What the President conveyed, first, regarding investment during the President's visit to Chengdu in July (2023), there were several investment commitments of 21.7 billion (US dollars) and there was an expansion of investment of 44.89 billion (US dollars); the President hopes that the realization will be carried out soon," she said at the State Palace on Friday.
The President is hoping for the realization of the "Two Countries, Twin Parks" project, which will become a bridge for Indonesian and Chinese companies, the minister added.
However, he also wants to explore cooperation in the field of maritime affairs and fisheries within the project.
In the infrastructure sector, Widodo conveyed that the inspection results for the Jakarta-Bandung fast train project have been satisfactory, but the issue of cost overruns will need to be resolved soon.
He also expressed the hope for urban planning cooperation for the development of IKN Nusantara on the lines of the city of Shenzhen.
In the field of trade, Indonesia asked that the exports of agricultural products such as sarang burung walet (swift nests) and durian plus be increased to China.
"The two leaders also hope that direct flights connecting important cities in Indonesia can be increased because they have not yet reached their maximum capacity," Marsudi informed.
