Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) and the Swiss-Indonesia Chamber of Commerce (SwissCham) officially launched the Indonesia Sustainability 4.0 Network at Kadin Tower on Tuesday.

Indonesia Sustainability 4.0 Network will run comprehensive and sustainable programs, including educational programs, training and workshops, project collaborations, and business needs matching.

"We agree that promoting sustainable development needs real action. Sustainable development must be implemented into real programs and projects carried out in this country," the chairperson of Kadin, Arsjad Rasjid, said in a short video at the launch event.

According to him, a total of 90 companies and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) have shown support and commitment to the Indonesia Sustainability 4.0 Network by signing the initiative's pledge.

The network's initiation will support activities and initiatives related to the sustainable development goals (SDGs), including awards programs, knowledge sharing, networking events, and collaborative projects, he said.

The results of these activities will be realized through cooperation in four main areas, namely promoting women leaders in sustainable development (SDG goal 5), increasing access to clean water (SDG goal 6), improving clean energy transition and achieving zero carbon emissions (SDG goal 7), and reducing and reusing plastic (SDG goal 12).

Meanwhile, the head of sustainability and innovation at SwissCham, Christophe Piganiol, said that the desire to establish the Indonesia Sustainability 4.0 Network stemmed from the strong commitment of the 2022 B20 Sustainability 4.0 Awards.

Piganiol expressed the hope that the Indonesia Sustainability 4.0 Network can bridge the gap between SMEs and the corporate sector to bring a significant impact on sustainable development goals.

"With this platform, we hope to bridge this gap and create a more significant impact for SDGs," he said.
