"Firstly, we will urge the world's leaders to devise policies that can be used as solutions to water problems. Meanwhile, the next issue is related to the importance of providing everyone with access to clean water and sanitation," he said in a statement received here.
He made the statement during the 2nd Stakeholder Consultation Meeting (SCM) on the WWF in Bali province.
According to the minister, the discussion on the second issue will be in line with the world's resolve to achieve the sustainable development goals (SDGs).
Regarding the third crucial issue, Minister Hadimuljono said that the countries participating in the 10th WWF should discuss the establishment of international cooperation in integrated water resources management, especially through the public-private partnership scheme.
"The final issue pertains to the interconnection between water, food, and energy," he added.
The minister then affirmed that the 2nd SCM on the World Water Forum should result in the establishment of collaboration between all relevant stakeholders.
"We are all gathering here to reach two main goals. The first one is to discuss and interconnect thematic, regional, and political processes. Furthermore, we are also here to formulate plans and steps that could be taken next," he said.
He then expressed the hope that the upcoming 10th WWF would serve as a proper platform for all parties to collaborate and produce concrete agreements to overcome global common challenges related to water for the sake of realizing water justice.
On the same occasion, president of the World Water Council, Loic Fauchon, said that the active participation of attending delegates would determine the success of the 2nd SCM.
"I would like to thank the Indonesian government, President Joko Widodo, and Minister Hadimuljono for the collaboration to prepare for making the 10th World Water Forum a successful and useful event," he remarked.
