Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA) - Acting governor of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Lalu Gita Ariadi, reviewed the readiness of the health service team for the 2023 MotoGP Mandalika series.

"The medical team, which consists of experienced doctors and nurses with special certification in handling emergencies for the 2023 MotoGP Mandalika series, is fully ready for duty," he declared while reviewing the readiness of the medical team at the Mandalika Circuit on Thursday.

The acting governor said that he was satisfied with the readiness of the joint team of health workers for the motorbike racing event. He also inspected a special ambulance belonging to Mandalika Hospital, which will be used to provide medical assistance during the event.

"The ambulance is good, especially since it has been used for all international events held in NTB, such as MotoGP, WSBK, and MXGP," he added.

Meanwhile, the director of Mandalika Hospital, Dr. Oxy Tjahjo Wahjuni, said that the medical team on duty was ready to provide health services to MotoGP riders during the race, scheduled from October 13–15, 2023.

"They will be strategically placed in Ring 1 for racers, and Rings 2 and 3 for crew, spectators, and the community around Mandalika Hospital," she informed.

The hospital is the closest referral hospital for emergencies for all parties involved in ensuring safety and quality medical services, she said.

"With the dedication of an extraordinary medical team, we are ready to maintain the health and safety of all those involved in MotoGP Mandalika," Wahjuni informed.

Meanwhile, director of the NTB Provincial Regional Hospital, Dr. Lalu Herman Mahaputra, informed that 300 health workers, consisting of doctors and nurses, will be deployed for the event.

The ring 1 medical team will be assigned to the medical center in the circuit area, he added.

Mahaputra said that most of the health workers deployed for the MotoGP Mandalika are currently working at the NTB Regional Hospital, Mataram City Regional Hospital, West Lombok Regional Hospital, and Praya Central Lombok Regional Hospital.

"The number of medical personnel we have prepared is the same as for MotoGP 2022. So nothing has changed, it remains the same," he added.
