Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) arrived at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, on Tuesday, to carry out working agendas, including opening the 2023 World Hydropower Congress.

Upon his arrival, the president was welcomed by several figures, including Acting Bali Governor S. M. Mahendra Jaya, Udayana Regional Military Commander Major General Harfendi, and Bali Police Chief Inspector General Ida Bagus Kade Putra Narendra.

According to a statement received by the Presidential Secretariat's Press Bureau in Jakarta, President Jokowi headed to Gianyar District for a first-hand review of the learning process at Public Vocational High School (SMKN) 3 Sukawati after landing at the airport.

Following his activity at the school, the head of state is scheduled to inspect the prices of several food commodities at Bulan Market in Gianyar.

He will also personally hand over food aid in the form of rice to beneficiaries in the district.

Before concluding his working visit to Bali Province, the president will inaugurate the 2023 World Hydropower Congress at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center, Badung District.

The 2023 World Hydropower Congress will be held to discuss efforts to promote the use of renewable energy and the development of future industry by building hydropower plants, handling environmental and social issues, and building climate resilience to overcome drought and floods.

Moreover, the event will serve as a flagship forum for decision makers within and outside the hydropower industry, where they can establish collaboration to ensure energy resilience and achieve the net-zero emissions target.

Earlier, President Jokowi and his entourage departed for Bali at 7 a.m. local time from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta, aboard the Air Force's Boeing 737-400 Aircraft.

State Secretary Minister Pratikno; Presidential Military Secretary Rear Admiral Hersan; Commander of the Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres) Military Major General Granada Baay; and Presidential Secretariat's Acting Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media M. Yusuf Permana are accompanying the president during his visit to Bali.
