Amin praised the high-speed train, which operates at speeds of up to 350 kilometers per hour, after travelling for the first time on it on Thursday, from Halim Station in East Jakarta to Tegalluar Station in Bandung District, West Java.
"I felt very comfortable since I could arrive here (in Bandung) very quickly. We have to be grateful for this," VP Amin stated in a video broadcast by the Vice Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel in Jakarta.
The vice president, who departed for Bandung at 9:15 a.m. local time, also commended the system and high level of comfort offered by the first high-speed train in Southeast Asia.
Amin noted that the government had developed the Whoosh fast train to provide yet another alternative means of mass transportation to the people.

Amin also gave his response to the pros and cons emerging amid members of the public regarding the development and operation of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train.
"Regardless of the pros and cons, this means of mass transport offers convenience to all of us in conducting our activities. That is the positive side," he remarked.
Furthermore, VP Amin invited all people to focus more on benefits brought by the operation of the fast train while noting that the train has been facilitating plenty of people to reach Bandung in a shorter period of time.
"The pros and cons were in the past. Now, we should make the most of the train to facilitate our activities," he told the people.
He then encouraged more people to use the high-speed train since it can help them to significantly cut travel time.
The vice president visited Bandung to deliver a scientific oration at Nusantara Islamic University.
West Java Acting Governor Bey Machmudin and Special Staff of the Vice President Masduki Baidlowi, among others, accompanied Amin during the activity.
