He noted that medicine and medical equipment aid is of priority, as most hospitals and medical equipment there have been damaged due to Israeli bombardment.
"According to the information we have obtained, the assistance most needed is medicine and medical equipment, so that (medical personnel) can carry out treatment and deal with problems quickly," he noted here on Monday.
Mansury made the remark when met on the sidelines of the send-off event of the second batch of humanitarian assistance for Palestine held at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base.
In the second batch of humanitarian assistance, Indonesia again sends medicines, hospital equipment, and food weighing a total of 21 tons. The fund for the assistance is sourced from the government and the people.
"This assistance, according to input from UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East), is assistance that (Gaza residents) really need, especially medical equipment," Mansury remarked.
He explained that just like the first batch, aid from Indonesia this time will also be handed over to the Egyptian Red Crescent as one of the institutions capable of mobilizing international aid to be distributed through the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt.
"From there, they will cooperate with UNRWA, which manages the issue of Palestinian refugees, and ensure that the assistance can be transported to the crossing and to several points in Gaza," he explained.
Regarding the collection of funds and assistance from the Indonesian people, he emphasized that the government will always facilitate the delivery of aid to Gaza through international institutions and agencies working in the besieged enclave.
"No (time limit for the collection of assistance). (It is) because people have their own initiative to do this, (and) we, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will monitor if there is high interest from the community," he affirmed.
The deputy minister emphasized that Indonesia always pays great attention to the Palestinian issue and will continue to gather support from other countries to end the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza.
"That is why Foreign Affairs Minister (Retno Marsudi) is traveling to several countries to carry out her duty as a special envoy of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (for peace in Palestine)," he remarked.
