We have conveyed our hope to UNSC; there have been resolutions, but those resolutions are not yet comprehensive.Beijing (ANTARA) - Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi on Monday said that the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab League have urged the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to issue a firm resolution on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
"We have conveyed our hope to UNSC; there have been resolutions, but those resolutions are not yet comprehensive, and (we have) conveyed our hope to P5 countries (permanent members of the UNSC) to do more because the situation is worsening," she told ANTARA in Beijing, China.
The minister made the statement on the sidelines of a meeting between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and OIC and Arab League envoys. China is a member of the UNSC and is holding the UN body's rotating presidency for November 2023.
Marsudi attended the meeting as one of the OIC and Arab League envoys along with Palestinian Foreign Affairs Minister Riyad al-Maliki, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Jordanian Foreign Affairs Minister Ayman Safadi, and OIC secretary general Hissein Brahim Taha.
"This meeting is part of the implementation of the resolution from the OIC and Arab League summit, which gave a mandate to several foreign ministers to follow up or try to resolve the situation in Gaza," she informed.
After China, the OIC and Arab League envoys are planning to visit other countries.
"The first target is P5, first China, then we go to Moscow, the UK, and also France, but the dynamics of the schedule are still being managed," she added.

At the meeting, Marsudi said that the situation in Gaza is worsening.
"I also conveyed that today (Monday), I received information that the Indonesian Hospital is experiencing bad bombardment. Therefore, if this continues, the impact will be unbearable," she informed.
According to her, China supports the resolution of the OIC and the Arab League countries. "And I asked that because it (China) supports it, we asked for its support for the implementation," she said.
The resolution from the OIC Extraordinary Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on November 11, 2023, mandates Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Indonesia, Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and Nigeria to help start a political process to forge peace between Israel and Palestine.
The resolution contains 31 strong messages from the OIC on ending the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in Gaza.
In addition to condemning Israel's atrocities in Gaza, OIC leaders have urged the UNSC to produce a resolution so that the atrocities can end immediately and humanitarian aid can continue to enter the region. They have also highlighted the importance of complying with international law.
The OIC has also condemned the forced displacement of 1.5 million Palestinians from northern to southern Gaza, which, according to the 4th Geneva Convention, would amount to a war crime.
Furthermore, the OIC has urged the UNSC to pass a resolution condemning Israel's destruction of hospitals in Gaza.
