Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) noted that since it started the Whoosh high-speed train operation in October 2023, the number of passengers reached 718,507 as of December 8, 2023.

KCIC General Manager Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunisa said in her statement here on Sunday that to serve tens of thousands of passengers every day, KCIC presents facilities at Halim, Padalarang, and Tegalluar Stations.

In detail, as of December 8, 2023, the Whoosh train had served 14,399 first class, 25,709 business class, and 678,399 premium economy class passengers.

"Passengers are looking for comfort, safety, and efficiency. For this reason, the facilities provided at each Whoosh station are designed to fulfill those needs," Chairunisa said.

She pointed out that there are service facilities such as ticket counters, vending machines, a spacious and comfortable waiting room, a commercial area for passengers to shop, prayer rooms, toilets, and a VIP room in each station.

In the commercial area, various tenants are ready to serve passengers who are waiting for the Whoosh train or the feeder transportation to arrive. Currently, there are more than 50 tenants present at the station, and 40 of them are MSMEs. More businesses will come to the station.

Meanwhile, passengers with special needs can access the lifts, escalators, guide blocks, audible announcements, wheelchairs, and officers who are trained and ready to serve them.

For security, KCIC has installed CCTVs at various points in the stations, X-ray inspections before entering the waiting room, and standby security officers.

To support connectivity, KCIC stations have been integrated with the Halim LRT Station, the feeder train at the Padalarang Station, and other modes of transportation.
