Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, is prioritizing hospitality culture at airports to make a good first impression on travelers entering Indonesia.

"Tourists get the first impression at the airport, and we have to make sure that at airports, we apply Indonesian hospitality," Uno said while responding to the results of a survey by AirHelp Organization, in Jakarta on Wednesday.

AirHelp Organization's survey and news outlets have revealed that three Indonesian airports have been named among the ten worst in the world, according to a Bloomberg Media report.

The three airports are Syamsuddin Noor Banjarmasin Airport, Halim Perdanakusuma Airport Jakarta, and Ngurah Rai Airport Bali.

Uno said that he had read the news and it will serve as material for an evaluation for the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

He informed that he has conducted hospitality training for airport officers, both those in the immigration department as well as porters who help tourists carry goods, to ensure good airport services.

Building hospitality at airports is not only a service, but also an investment in a country's tourism attractiveness.

"Because most tourists are not only seeking natural beauty, but they also want to know how important hospitality is in Indonesia," Uno explained.

Therefore, he requested that good service and a pleasant atmosphere with a culture of hospitality be created, especially at airports that are entrance points for foreign tourists.

"The most important are the three main doors of tourists to Indonesia, namely Ngurah Rai Bali Airport, Soekarno Hatta, and also many who enter through the Batam and Kepri doors. So, those are our main points to improve hospitality and service quality," he said.
