Jakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan has said that the integration of digital public services provided by the government will support the community and help reduce corruption.

At a plenary cabinet meeting held some time ago, several ministries committed to developing GovTech, strengthening Digital ID, and optimizing the Government Cloud as part of the National Data Center ecosystem to improve digital public services.

"All must be integrated into the Government Cloud (that is under the) Presidential Regulation No. 82 of 2023. If this system is created, we can make it easier for the community as well as corruption cases will go down," Pandjaitan said at a GovTech coordination meeting here on Monday.

To achieve Indonesia's optimal digital service vision, the government will transform state-owned currency printing enterprise Peruri into a world-class digital state-owned enterprise (SOE).

The ministries involved in GovTech development include the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, the Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Ministry, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the SOEs Ministry, and the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo).

The integrated digital public service application will provide a seamless and informative customer experience.

The government will also push the use of Digital ID, wherein identification numbers (NIK) would be used in the database for other government digital services, including driver's licenses, social health security (BPJS), passports, license plates, Tax Identification Numbers (NPWP), telephone numbers, and marriage books, among others.

The Home Ministry has issued a circular to regional leaders to encourage regions to play a role in accelerating digital transformation and integrating digital services.

"We are thinking on how to execute the President's order to realize a government system that utilizes information technology," Pandjaitan said.
