Jakarta (ANTARA) - Head of the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) Bambang Susantono stated that investors' interest in investing in Indonesia's new capital city, Nusantara, is still maintained and showed positive market sentiment toward the capital development.

Indonesia is currently developing a new capital named Nusantara with a forest city concept in North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan.

"Alhamdulillah (thank God) the development's momentum and market sentiment are very positive with maintained investors' interest," he stated at the groundbreaking event for construction of the OIKN office in North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan, Wednesday.

According to Susantono, several private investors and state-owned enterprises (SOEs) have started to build five-star hotels, warehouse and logistic areas, Nusantara Warehouse, and Nusantara Logistic Hub.

He noted that Wednesday's groundbreaking event is the first groundbreaking in 2024 and the fourth since September 2023.

"Today's activity involves 10 private institutions, SOEs, state institutions, ministries, and community organizations, and covers various sectors that will create a complete city ecosystem," he explained.

Apart from the groundbreaking for the construction of the State Mosque, the Beranda Nusantara area, government offices, and the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation's (LPS') headquarters, the state-run radio broadcasting institution RRI carried out its first broadcast from its mini studio in Nusantara on Wednesday.

He expressed hope that with RRI's nationwide live broadcast carried out from Nusantara, people across Indonesia would be able to receive accurate and actual news about Nusantara's development.

"Today, we are also continuing reforestation that Mr (President Joko Widodo) has started to create a green and sustainable area in the Nusantara area. This time, the program is named Green Pesantren Nusantara," he remarked.

At the event, Susantono expressed his gratitude to President Joko Widodo for attending the event and leading the groundbreaking event of construction projects in Nusantara.

He also thanked the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing for designing and prioritizing the construction of the OIKN office.
