He expressed strong support for national and international POC collaboration for the implementation of advanced technology in Nusantara, including smart transportation and mobility.
Meanwhile, OIKN's digital ecosystem development director, Tonny Agus Setiono, emphasized his commitment to making Nusantara a model for urban life, with the Intelligence Transportation System (ITS) playing an important role in the city's development.
Thus, the POC is a step toward realizing a Nusantara that is connected, sustainable, and technologically advanced.
On January 30, 2024, Sergek Projects launched a smart traffic mobility POC project in Nusantara, East Kalimantan.
Nusantara is aiming to become a futuristic and modern city with a three-city ecosystem that has six smart city components, including transportation and mobility, which are the focus of the POC.
The POC includes the implementation of an advanced traffic and parking management system and an advanced public transportation system, which will be equipped with a traffic law enforcement system in the field.
The three-month initiative will cover Nusantara and Balikpapan, and aims to bring traffic management, law enforcement, and ecological sustainability in transportation to a higher level.
The collaborative initiative between Sergek and OIKN will involve the Ministry of Transportation, Balikpapan Transportation Service, Balikpapan Communication and Information Service, Balikpapan Police Traffic head, North Penajam Paser Police Traffic head, and Samarinda Police Traffic head.
The scope of the proof of concept includes analysis of existing blueprints and master plans, information-gathering workshops with key stakeholders, and prioritization based on the needs of OIKN, Balikpapan, Samarinda, and the Ministry of Transportation.
Although the POC will be implemented in Balikpapan, the use of cases and results will be much broader, offering applications across Nusantara and several key stakeholders across Indonesia.
Vice president of global markets, Sergek Projects, Alyona Tkachenko, said that Nusantara is a twin city of Astana, Kazakhstan.
"Our vision to replicate these extraordinary results for Nusantara, our sister city, can only be matched by our commitment to driving growth, placing a strong emphasis on technology, processes, and people," Tkachenko added.
