Jakarta (ANTARA) - Fifth President of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri and her family cast their vote at the polling station (TPS) No. 053 in Kebagusan IV Dalam neighborhood in Pasar Minggu Sub-district, Jakarta, on Wednesday, at 10:58 a.m. local time.

Soekarnoputri arrived at the polling station along with her children, namely Speaker of the House of Representatives Puan Maharani and politician Muhammad Prananda Prabowo.

Her granddaughter, Diah Pikatan Orissa Putri Hapsari, also voted at the same polling station.

Soekarnoputri's name was called out by the head of the Voting Organizing Team (KPPS) of TPS No. 53 at 11 a.m. local time.

"Megawati Taufiq," the TPS 053 KPPS head announced.

She then inserted the ballot into the ballot box, dipped her right little finger into the ink and showed it to the media.

After casting her vote, she was scheduled to monitor the results of the 2024 election quick count at her residence on Teuku Umar Street in Menteng Sub-district, Central Jakarta.

Meanwhile, presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number 3 Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD would also be at Soekanorputri's residence to monitor the quick count.

Earlier, Pranowo had voted at TPS No. 11 in Lempongsari Village, Semarang City, Central Java, while Mahfud voted at TPS No. 106 at Sambilegi Lor, Maguwoharjo, Depok, Sleman, Yogyakarta Province.

The 2024 General Election consists of the presidential-vice presidential election, the legislative election including for electing the Regional Representative Council members, and the provincial and local legislative election.

Some 204,807,222 voters are listed on the permanent voter list (DPT) set by the General Elections Commission (KPU).

Three presidential-vice presidential candidate pairs in this year's election are Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar as No. 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka as No. 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD as No. 3.
