Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Environment and Forestry (LHK) Siti Nurbaya participated in the 2024 General Elections and expressed hope that the elected leaders and legislative members would carry out the mandate of the people.

In a post on social media in Jakarta, Wednesday, the minister stated that she, as a good citizen, had exercised her voting rights at polling station (TPS) 5 in Matraman, East Jakarta.

"Hopefully, those who are elected will carry out the mandate of the people," Nurbaya stated as confirmed in Jakarta, Wednesday.

The 2024 elections include the election of the president and vice president, members of the DPR RI, members of the DPD RI, members of the provincial DPRD, as well as members of the district and city DPRD, with a national level permanent voter list (DPT) of 204,807,222 voters.

In the 2024 election, 18 national political parties and six local political parties participated in Aceh. Meanwhile, three pairs participated in the election of the president and vice president, namely Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar as pair of number 1, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD as number 3.

In accordance with KPU Regulation Number 3 of 2022, the national vote recapitulation for the 2024 Election is scheduled to take place from February 15 to March 20, 2024.

For the election of president and vice president, the pairs need to garner more than 50 percent of the total votes, with at least 20 percent of the votes in each province spread across more than half of the provinces in Indonesia.

If no one meets those conditions, a second round of elections will be held in June 2024.
