Jakarta (ANTARA) - Delegates from several countries appreciated the 2024 Election Visit Program (EVP), which was implemented successfully, according to an official from the Secretariat General of the House of Representatives (DPR).

Head of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Bureau of the DPR Secretariat General, Endah Tjahjani Dwirini, said that this was reflected by the high enthusiasm of the delegates in participating in the program. They were impressed by the people's enthusiasm for the 2024 General Elections, she added.

"It can be seen from the enthusiasm of the delegates, which has been amazing since the first day of their arrival," she said in a statement issued by the DPR here on Thursday.

According to her, the delegates participated in several activities, including a seminar on the election system in Indonesia and the monitoring of vote counting.

She informed that the delegates were impressed by the work of polling station officers, which reflected the mutual cooperation values that are still upheld by Indonesians.

A delegate from Northern Illinois University (NIU) of the United States (US), Eric Jones, expressed his appreciation for the 2024 EVP in Bali. He said that he derived insights from observing the social and political situation in Indonesia.

A delegate from the parliament of Tanzania, Elibariki Immanuel Kingu, congratulated Indonesia. He said the archipelagic nation successfully organized one of the biggest elections in the world credibly, transparently, in a democratic manner, and peacefully.

Indonesia held the general elections on Wednesday (February 14, 2024), with around 204.8 million voters registered in the final electoral roll.

During the elections, Indonesians voted for a president and a vice president as well as members of the House of Representatives (DPR), Regional Representatives Council (DPD), and Regional Legislative Councils (DPRD) at the provincial, city, and district levels.

On Election Day, through the EVP, delegates from the parliaments of friendly countries and three world parliamentary organizations directly observed the voting and vote counting processes in Bali province, namely in Panglipuran village, the Jimbaran area, and the Garuda Wisnu Kencana area.
