During the event taking place at the Istanbul Lutfi Kirdar International Convention and Exhibition Centre (ICEC) on February 26–29, USU had its own booth, this public university's spokesperson, Amalia Meutia, stated.
By having its own booth, USU had a greater opportunity to introduce its scientific excellence and expand networking and collaboration with potential global partners, she stated on Tuesday.
USU introduced its scientific excellence focused on the fields of tropical science and medicine, agroindustry, local wisdom, energy, natural resources, technology, and arts.
"Through this event, more parties will hopefully know USU at a global level and will help USU get more chances to enter Europe and Asia's higher education markets," she highlighted.
For this year's Eurasia Higher Education Summit, Indonesia's Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Ministry pushed USU and eight reputable universities to participate in the event, she remarked.
Meanwhile, Coordinator for General Substance, Collaboration, and Public Relations at the ministry's Directorate General of Higher Education, Yayat Hendayana, said he lauded USU's participation in the event.
"We highly appreciate USU, which belongs to the state-owned legal entity group of universities in Indonesia, for having a booth, as it has helped USU introduce its excellence and uniqueness (to visitors)," he noted.
During the event, USU introduced its scientific excellence in the cluster of so-called TALENTA (tropical science and medicine, agroindustry, local wisdom, energy, natural resources, technology, and arts), he said.
"USU has also introduced the Malay and Batak cultures to visitors at the event," Hendayana remarked.
As disclosed on the event's official website, EURIE is an annual summit that features an exhibition and a conference during which those from international higher education institutions get opportunities to expand their knowledge, networks, and collaboration.
By joining and attending the event, both participants and visitors had opportunities to share ideas, experiences, and best practices for the internationalization of higher education.
They could also generate partnership opportunities for academic collaboration, student and staff exchanges, and many other joint ventures, as well as discuss challenges facing higher education today, explore new trends, and discover innovative solutions.
The event also facilitates related participating universities to explore higher education systems, student mobility flows, and recruitment dynamics in the Eurasian region.
