Jakarta (ANTARA) - Human Development and Cultural Affairs Coordinating Minister Muhadjir Effendy and Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Minister Bintang Puspayoga visited the Cikarang Utama Toll Gate, Bekasi, West Java, to inspect preparations for this year's Eid exodus.

At the nearby Command Center of the Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the National Police (Polri), the two ministers were briefed on preparatory measures taken by the police, including the deployment of drones capable of monitoring 20 kilometers of area and zooming at 30 times closer.

"This is the first year when drones are being utilized to perfect monitoring systems at points uncovered by CCTVs," Minister Effendy remarked on Thursday.

During their visit to the command center, Effendy and Puspayoga learned that the traffic corps are making use of four applications to monitor and oversee vehicles crossing toll roads, arterial roads, and ports.

The ministers also received updates on the latest traffic situations on toll roads and arterial roads along the routes of this year's Eid al-Fitr homecoming.

According to Head of Operations of the Korlantas, Chief Commissioner Eddy Djunaedy, the police had detected an increase of 33 percent in the daily traffic flow from Cikatama Toll Road to Transjawa Toll Road.

"Regarding daily flow, we have detected an increase of 33 percent," he pointed out.

To ensure the smooth running of this year's Eid al-Fitr homecoming exodus, Polri, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and other relevant stakeholders are implementing Operation Ketupat 2024 on April 4-16.

While inspecting personnel preparedness during a roll call held at the National Monument, Jakarta, on Wednesday (April 3), Polri Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo noted that a total of 155,165 joint officers are involved in Operation Ketupat.

He also stated that the Polri had erected 3,772 security posts, 1,532 service posts, and 480 integrated posts to ensure optimal services for the people.
