He made the statement while presenting a public lecture for students of Jayapura Health Polytechnic of the Health Ministry in Nabire, Central Papua, on Thursday (April 4).
"You must excel, become smart, and educate families in your environments," he told the polytechnic students, as quoted from a statement received from the agency on Friday.
In order to achieve the vision in 2045, he underscored the need for Indonesia to enhance the quality of its human resources equally in all regions, including Central Papua.
The BKKBN head remarked that President Joko Widodo had accentuated the need to produce superior talents to achieve the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.
"Quality families are key to actualizing Golden Indonesia. This is in line with President Joko Widodo's directive that this country is in need of superior human resources to achieve the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision," he stated.
He then attributed stunting prevalence to the quality of human resources, noting that Indonesia must ensure that its children grow healthy and be free from stunting cases to produce quality generations.
"Stunting has been disrupting the growth and development of children, which then affects the quality of human resources. For that reason, young people in Central Papua need to prevent stunting as early as possible," he emphasized.
The official also praised the health polytechnic for the fact that Papuan native youths account for nearly 80 percent of the total students in its nursing department.
"They are playing a critical role in determining the future of this nation because they will bear children one day. The health of their children will also depend on them," he stated.
