According to a release from the ministry here on Wednesday, compensation provided worth Rp15 million (US$926) to the families of each deceased victim. Meanwhile, each injured victim received compensation of Rp5 million (US$308).
"This assistance will continue until they are no longer displaced, until they are relocated," the minister remarked.
She also explained that assistance offered in the form of public kitchens and evacuation posts will continue to operate as long as the affected residents still need it.
On the same occasion, the minister also inspected the condition of landslide survivors at the evacuation post and then handed out school bags, toys, and snack parcels to the children living in refugee camps.
One of the refugees, Hamdan, 61, said he was happy when his grandson received the gift from the minister.
Hamdan, who has been taking refuge at the evacuation post since Friday (Apr 26), also expressed gratitude for the facilities provided by the ministry at the evacuation post.
"Thank God, there are mattresses and blankets, and we get three meals a day. Thank you, the Ministry of Social Affairs," he stated.
The minister then appealed to residents and administrators of the Disaster Preparedness Village (KSB) to always be alert, especially when it rains, as landslides cannot be predicted.
