Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia has been coordinating with the Philippines to extradite an Asian network drug dealer named Johann Gregor arrested in the Filipino province of Cebu, the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) stated.

BNN's Acting Deputy for Eradication, Sabaruddin Ginting, noted that the agency would collaborate with the National Police's (Polri's) International Relations Division to extradite Gregor.

"We have been coordinating with authorities in the Philippines to decide the most suitable time for the pick up," he remarked when met in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Ginting affirmed that the BNN along with the Polri would continue to pursue efforts to extradite Gregor currently in detention in the Philippines.

Gregor, registered as an Australian national residing in West Nusa Tenggara, was one of the seven people identified as perpetrators in a narcotics trafficking case in Indonesia on December 5 last year.

After finding out that Gregor was abroad, the BNN urged Polri's International Relations Divisions for help to submit a red notice to Interpol.

Meanwhile, the six other drug traffickers are Indonesian citizens and have been apprehended within the country's territory.

"The partners of Gregor were arrested in Indonesia last December," he pointed out.

Earlier, on Wednesday (May 15), Head of Polri's International Relations Division Inspector General Krishna Murti posted a video showing the arrest of Gregor on his social media account.

The video showed the trafficker in a white t-shirt and short jeans while being arrested from his car.

Gregor was arrested through collaboration between the Polri, Law and Human Affairs Ministry's Immigration Directorate General, Finance Ministry's Customs and Excise Directorate General, and law enforcement authorities of the Philippines.

Another social media post showed a picture of Gregor's passport under a different name: Fernando Tremendo Chimenea.
