"We have some priorities at the moment, with the first being to push for an immediate and permanent ceasefire because, without a ceasefire, no improvement can take place," Marsudi stated at a meeting with Commission I of the House of Representatives (DPR) here on Wednesday.
The second priority highlighted by Marsudi is to ensure humanitarian assistance distribution flow for the Palestinian people and to support the work of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
Indonesia is committed to continuing to increase humanitarian assistance by direct distribution or through UNRWA, and the government will adjust the assistance for the Palestinian people accordingly, the minister noted.
According to Marsudi, the third priority is to pressure all parties to adhere to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) decisions, especially concerning the Israel-Palestine conflict.
"We hope the UN Security Council can establish a resolution to put pressure on Israel to carry out ICJ decisions," she added.
Indonesia will also prioritize efforts to encourage more countries to recognize Palestine's sovereignty, advocate for Palestine's full membership status in the UN, and support the realization of the two-state solution, the minister elaborated.
She affirmed that Indonesia will persevere in its support for Palestine, as Indonesia's Constitution stipulates that "colonialism must be abolished in the world."
"Indonesia will utilize all possible avenues to continue supporting Palestine, either through political support, bilateral or international forums, the ICJ, or by continuing our humanitarian assistance support," Marsudi remarked.
