Nusantara, East Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The ANTARA News Agency on Wednesday opened its operational office in Nusantara city, East Kalimantan, to support the new capital's development through news coverage.

"ANTARA News Agency opens its office (in Nusantara city) to enhance news coverage about activities related to the new capital's development," president director Akhmad Munir informed here.

ANTARA's Nusantara workspace is located in the construction workers' accommodation building in the government core area.

Munir expressed the hope that ANTARA's Nusantara office will bolster the news agency's efforts to support the development of the new capital as the new epicenter of national development and economic growth.

ANTARA is also committed to supporting Nusantara city's development and will help the government promote the new capital to investors, he said.

"We will optimize our function to support the new capital's development," the president director added.

Meanwhile, during an interview with state-owned Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI), ANTARA's news director, Irfan Junaidi, affirmed that the news agency's workspace will serve as a media hub for national and international media in Nusantara city.

Junaidi informed that ANTARA's workspace in Nusantara will be open to local and international journalists working on news assignments in the new capital.

Reporting from Nusantara may be challenging for journalists without appropriate support. Hence, ANTARA is keen to help, he said.

"If you need a place to work, write your reports, edit your photos, or send your data, please come to ANTARA's workspace in Nusantara," he added.
