Nusantara, E Kalimantan (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has emphasized the importance of building supporting infrastructure in Indonesia's new capital Nusantara in East Kalimantan to meet the residents' need for accommodation, transportation, and consumption.

He delivered the remarks during the groundbreaking of a construction project of PT Arena Graha Andalan in the Nusantara area, North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan, on Wednesday.

"Activities in the Nusantara capital city are increasing very rapidly. We need accommodation, transportation, and other facilities," he noted.

The President highlighted the need for accommodation facilities, which are still difficult to find in the Nusantara area. He also lauded the construction of Arena Botanica, which is expected to begin to meet these needs soon.

"Until now, if I bring a group of 200 people, 300 people, the place is not available yet. So, I really appreciate the investment that will be built, the Arena Botanica from the Arena Group, which we hope will encourage ministers to immediately move here," he said.

In addition to accommodation, Widodo also highlighted the need for culinary facilities in the Nusantara area. Finding a decent place to eat is a challenge for people living and working in the new capital, he noted.

He expressed the hope that the construction of Arena Botanica, which will integrate five well-known restaurant brands, would help overcome those challenges.

"I really appreciate PT Arena Graha that is integrating five well-known restaurant brands into one area," he said.

Furthermore, he called for the acceleration of the project to meet the needs of the community in Nusantara. With the presence of Arena Botanica, the facilities at Nusantara will be even more complete to provide convenience to the community in meeting their daily needs.
