"We are elated to receive a lot of extraordinary inputs from women. These inputs will be our consideration in taking the next steps. The inputs from the workers' union need to be realized in the derivative rules," Puspayoga said in a statement issued by the ministry here on Friday.
She added that the ministry is open to receiving inputs and views related to the law's implementation.
According to Puspayoga, the meeting between the ministry and the Women's Workers Union was important to collect inputs for the preparation of derivative regulations of the KIA Law, so that they can be implemented and the law does not merely remain on paper.
"This is our huge duty and the focus is on preparing clear and comprehensive derivative regulations. We listen to the aspirations of all parties, especially in terms of wordings, to ensure that these provisions are easy to understand and be applied," Puspayoga said.
At the meeting, representatives of the Women's Workers Union provided inputs considered necessary for drafting the ministry's KIA Law derivative rules.
The inputs were related to the protection of maternity rights, adequate health facilities, and social support for mothers and children, and the guarantee of the realization of these rights.
Puspayoga said that the KIA Law or the Law on Maternal and Child Welfare in the First Thousand Days of Life Phase was ratified to provide the best benefits to mothers and children in Indonesia.
She expressed the hope that the KIA Law derivative regulations will be more responsive to real needs in the field. (INE)
