Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Seribu Islands Tourism and Creative Economy Office unveiled here Sunday that a total of 5,293 tourists have visited Jakarta's Seribu Islands District on June 15-16, ahead of the Eid al-Adha holiday on June 17.

"Ahead of Eid al-Adha on Monday (June 17), many tourists visit the Seribu Islands to enjoy various destinations," Head of the Seribu Islands Tourism and Creative Economy Office, Sonti Pangaribuan, said.

She said the tourists entered from several entrances to the Seribu Islands area, such as Marina Ancol, Muara Angke, Tanjung Pasir, and Cituis piers.

She explained that tourists who visit the Seribu Islands mostly visit inhabited islands and resort islands.

According to her, the number of tourist visits is predicted to increase in the next few days.

She added that access to the Seribu Islands is easy, and the facilities provided make it easy for tourists to enjoy the holiday.

To get to the Seribu Islands, tourists can go to the Kali Adem or Marina Ancol piers which have different ticket rates respectively.

Through the Kali Adem pier, visitors can ride the wooden boats with a rate of around Rp50 thousand to Rp80 thousand, or can ride the Jakarta Transportation Office's ship with a cost ranging from Rp44 thousand to Rp74 thousand.

"Meanwhile, through the Marina Ancol pier, the tariff is from Rp150 thousand to Rp200 thousand," Pangaribuan said.

Previously, Seribu Islands District Head Junaedi said that his side prepared eleven leading tourist destinations located on islands. He proposed for regulatory assistance to the Jakarta Provincial Government.

"The district government has made a breakthrough and we make progress, changes and reasonable ideas," he said.

Jakarta is developing towards becoming a global city where several indicators are related to the tourism sector and the National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN) establishment, he added.
