"I am impressed by this activity that is able to connect innovation and research with the industrial world," Harbuwono remarked after reviewing the booths presented at the health innovation expo at the UI Depok Campus here on Thursday.
The deputy minister noted that innovation and findings at the university level are stepping stones to industrial development.
One of the booths there presented the result of innovative research from the Faculty of Public Health about stunting. Reducing the stunting rate is deemed urgent so that children's growth and development can be optimal to realize Golden Indonesia 2045.
"The Ministry of Health has an important role in realizing health transformation towards Golden Indonesia 2045," he remarked.
Harbuwono underscored the importance of paying attention to the health pillar, as part of Indonesia's vision of becoming an advanced country by 2045, as the country will face a demographic bonus, where the productive age will be very large.
"Members of Gen Z will be the ones who continue and become the backbone for Indonesia's development so that it can escape from being a middle-income country to a developed (high-income) country," he stated.
Furthermore, he remarked that the six pillars of health outlined by the Health Ministry are primary health, referral health, health security, health financing, health human resource, and health technology transformation.
UI Director of Cooperation Toto Pranoto stated that the UI Health Innovation Expo 2024 is a networking event between academia, hospitals, the government, and industries in the medical devices and laboratory equipment sector.
