Polewali Mandar, West Sulawesi (ANTARA) - It has been no disruption in services using Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) following the recent cyberattack on the national data center (PDN), Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, confirmed on Tuesday.

"Our data is safe. Until now, we can serve the needs of the community," she informed after disbursing assistance in Polewali Mandar, West Sulawesi.

Her ministry will also follow further instructions regarding data backup to avoid cyber interference, which could impact the community or beneficiary families.

According to the latest data published by the Ministry of Social Affairs, in May 2024, a total of 140,054,921 people were registered in the DTKS. The figure combined the initial DTKS data of 118,681,953 people and the new proposed data of 21,372,968 people.

"We can detect even a small problem (in the system). This data is used to serve unfortunate people. Even though nobody is perfect, we can ensure the data at the ministry is safe," Rismaharini said.

On June 20, 2024, several national public services experienced problems due to the disruption of temporary national data center (PDNS) 2. One of the services that was seriously affected was the Directorate General of Immigration's Autogate system, which disrupted people's mobility.

The PDNS 2 server experienced a cyberattack in the form of ransomware called Brain Cipher, a new variant of the Lockbit 3.0 ransomware.

As of June 25, at least 282 agencies had been affected by the PDNS 2 incident. The government promptly made efforts to restore affected public services and carry out an investigation using digital forensics.

Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Hadi Tjahjanto, affirmed that PDNS 2 services will recover fully by the end of July.
