Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo emphasized the importance of continuing structural reforms to ensure the government remains efficient and result-oriented.

The president made the statement at the submission of the Examination Results Report on the Central Government Financial Statements 2023 (LHP LKPP) in Jakarta, Monday.

"I hope that the structural reforms that are already underway are important to continue. Continue synchronizing regulations and simplifying procedures, so that the government runs more effectively and efficiently and also oriented towards results, not procedures," President Jokowi remarked.

Jokowi noted that deregulation and de-bureaucratization had been carried out extensively. However, unsynchronized regulations and complicated bureaucracy are still found.

"Permits replaced by considerations, permits replaced by recommendations. It is the same. It is difficult to manage both at the central level and in the regions," he stated.

The president emphasized that such matters were easy to blame during investigations and became a source of fear for government officials. Hence, he called on all levels to continue structural reforms.
