Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Manpower Ministry strove to equalize perceptions between employment stakeholders to perfect the synergy in managing the Labor Market Information System during a coordination meeting held in Jakarta on Monday.

"This meeting aims to increase coordination and synergy between work units within the Ministry of Manpower and other related agencies in the management and utilization of labor market information," the ministry's Secretary General, Anwar Sanusi, remarked at the meeting followed virtually on Monday.

Furthermore, Sanusi highlighted that the meeting was held to identify obstacles faced in managing labor market information and formulate policy recommendations and strategies for developing a more responsive Labor Market Information System to labor market dynamics.

Sanusi then explained that the basis of the Job Market Information System is Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 68 of 2022 concerning the Revitalization of Vocational Education and Vocational Training. One of the important aspects of the presidential decree is the development of a Job Market Information System.

His side then followed up by issuing Minister of Manpower Regulation (Permenaker) Number 5 of 2024 concerning the Labor Market Information System stipulated on February 26, 2024.

The formulation of the system is also closely related to the Ministry of Manpower's Nine Leaps as a strategy for facing challenges of employment development in Indonesia. Hence, the Labor Market Information System is needed to build a proper employment ecosystem, Sanusi remarked.

According to the secretary general, the ministry has already built a Labor Market Center to manage the labor market in Indonesia. This unit also helps to meet the demand from the business world and the supply of job seekers.

Hence, to this end, an information system is needed to foster good communication between employers and job seekers represented by the institution that trains human resources.

"These two entities must interact properly to realize productive economic growth, which will ultimately provide benefits to the Indonesian people," Sanusi noted.
