"This simulator will empower our dedicated medical professionals, researchers, practitioners to push their boundaries of what is (made) possible (through) laparoscopy surgery," he added.
He said that laparoscopy has revolutionized the field of surgery as it offers minimally invasive solutions that result in shorter recovery time, reduced pain, and better overall outcomes for patients.
Laparoscopy is used for abdominal surgeries, such as tumor removal, appendicitis, or even gestational surgery, the deputy minister noted. Advancing laparoscopy techniques can improve the quality of care, as well as ensure that the healthcare system remains at the forefront with innovative measures.
"The benefit of this technology extends far beyond the operation room. It touches the lives of countless patients and their families, providing them with the hope and healing they deserve," he added.
He also expressed gratitude to the Iranian government for its unwavering support and collaboration in the medical field.
"On behalf of the people of Indonesia, I express my profound gratitude to the Excellency Mr. Sayyid Ebrahim Raisi, the previous president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, for donating this laparoscopy surgery simulator to His Excellency Mr. Joko Widodo," he remarked.
He said that under Raisi's leadership, collaboration between the two countries contributed to Indonesia's healthcare sector. He also condoled the loss of Iran's president and minister in a helicopter crash earlier this year.
Harbuwono expressed the hope that under the leadership of the new Iranian president, Masoud Pezeshkian, the collaboration can be pursued further to bring about more significant development.
