He said that the plot is registered as a state asset at the Ministry of Finance with a certificate issued by the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR).
"However, it has not been used for a long time and has been overtaken by a private entity," Sadikin explained.
He made these remarks after the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the ATR Ministry, which outlines collaboration in resolving land status issues to maintain state assets.
Sadikin said that his ministry is currently facing 24 land status issues involving public and private entities.
Regarding the eviction of the PKBI office, he explained that his ministry had brought the case to court, as the land plot belongs to the government and they intend to use it. However, he said they are open to discussing "a win-win solution" for everyone.
Sadikin remarked that other issues include the lack of certificates for some of the thousands of hectares of land his ministry owns. He expected that the ATR Ministry could help simplify the certification process and ensure that those plots belong to the state.
On the same occasion, ATR Minister Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono expressed optimism that the Health Ministry's land status issues could be resolved. He said that his ministry will ensure legal certainty for everyone.
"Many state assets have had unclear status for a long time," he revealed.
