The ministry and the contractor, a joint operation between PT Timas Suplindo and PT Pratiwi Putri Sulung, signed the contract on August 2.
The ministry's Director General of Oil and Natural Gas, Dadan Kusdiana, said in a statement on Sunday that the two-year project is one of the government's National Strategic Projects (PSN).
"This project should be prioritized by the ministry and the contractor," he said.
The Cisem Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline Phase II spans 245 kilometers and is divided into three segments.
The project is targeted to be completed by the end of 2025 and be operational in the first quarter of 2026.
