"People in East Kalimantan and other regions can also follow the ceremony in Nusantara via live broadcast," he remarked on Wednesday.
He said that the telecommunications network is supported by Telkom, as the state-owned telecommunications company and its subsidiary, Telkomsel, have conducted a rehearsal to ensure the readiness of telecommunications infrastructure in Nusantara.
Setiadi stated that connectivity aspects, including fiber optics and cellular communication, as well as those related to electricity supply, have also been tested.
He added that the availability of an adequate telecommunications network aligns with the smart city concept, which has been endorsed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
He also noted that other cellular operators have provided telecommunications services using temporary infrastructure.
These temporary infrastructures include mobile base transceiver stations and aerial fiber optics to serve several project locations during construction or specific events.
He expressed hope that telecommunications services currently relying on temporary infrastructure could later be gradually integrated into Nusantara.
This can be achieved through infrastructure-sharing cooperation provided by Telkom to ensure quality telecommunications services in the capital city.
An official at the Ministry of Communication and Informatics stated that preparations are approximately 90 percent complete.
For the first time, Indonesia's future capital will host a ceremony on the country's Independence Day. President Jokowi is scheduled to preside over the event.
A similar ceremony, planned to be led by Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, will take place in Jakarta on the same day.
