Kendari (ANTARA) - The Kendari Immigration Office deported a foreign citizen from China after being proven to have misused his residence permit in Indonesia.

Head of the Kendari Immigration Office, Soesilo Sumedi, stated in Kendari on Thursday that the Chinese citizen, with the initials LT, was secured at one of the stone crushing companies located in Moramo Sub-district, South Konawe District, on August 8, 2024.

"The foreign citizen was proven to have misused his residence permit and was deported on August 14, 2024, via Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Jakarta," Sumedi remarked.

Sumedi affirmed that the deportation carried out by his side this time was the result of an intensive immigration surveillance operation.

He stated that following an in-depth examination, it was confirmed that the foreign citizen concerned had violated Indonesian immigration regulations.

"It is in accordance with Article 122 letter A of Law No. 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration," he stated.

According to Sumedi, the steps taken by his side are part of the efforts to maintain order and security in the Kendari Immigration jurisdiction.

"We will take action against any violation of immigration regulations in accordance with applicable provisions," he remarked.

He appealed to foreign nationals to always comply with applicable immigration regulations, as violations of the regulations can harm individuals and disrupt stability and order in society.

"With the deportation, the Kendari Immigration Office confirms its commitment to maintaining state sovereignty and ensuring that everyone in Indonesia complies with applicable laws," he added.
