"The budget of Rp504.7 trillion is to reduce the burden on the poor and vulnerable," Jokowi noted in his speech at the delivery of the 2025 RAPBN and the Financial Memorandum at the parliamentary complex here on Friday.
At the House of Representatives (DPR) Plenary Session, he remarked that the allocated budget would be used to accelerate poverty alleviation more on-target, effectively, and efficiently.
In the state budget bill, the government has also prepared a health budget of Rp197.8 trillion, or 5.5 percent of the state expenditure.
The budget is aimed at improving the quality and affordability of services, accelerating the stunting rate and infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, as well as providing free health checkups.
At the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) 2024 Annual Session and the Joint Session of the DPR and the Regional Representatives Council (DPD), President Jokowi highlighted several protection programs implemented for the lower-income community in the past decade.
In the 10 years of Jokowi's leadership, the government has carried out several programs, such as the Health Indonesia Card (KIH), the Smart Indonesia Card (KIP), and the Family Hope Program (PKH).
In a decade, his administration budgeted a total of Rp361 trillion in the state budget for the Health Indonesia Card to fund more than 92 million National Health Insurance (JKN) participants per year, ranging from young people to the elderly throughout Indonesia.
Moreover, the government budgeted Rp113 trillion for the KIP, giving access to education to more than 20 million students every year.
President Jokowi also stated that the government allocated Rp225 trillion for the PKH program in the last 10 years, which has helped 10 million underprivileged families annually.
