Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo has presented awards to several people who have dedicated themselves to the field of sports and have made achievements this year. "This is the state's appreciation and award for your dedication, commitment, hard work, and devotion to the country and society through sports," Ariotedjo said in his remarks at the award ceremony, according to the ministry's official website here on Wednesday.

The award recipients came from various groups, such as athletes, former athletes, coaches, referees, academicians, mediapersons, mentors, and sports organizers from associations and foundations.

Ariotedjo informed that before their selection, the award recipients underwent an assessment carried out by the ministry, academicians, the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI), the Indonesian National Olympic Committee (NOC), and experts.

The annual award is given to those who have significantly contributed to the progress of sports in Indonesia.

In addition to the award, the recipients received a sum of money and a plaque.

Ariotedjo expressed the hope that the awards would become a form of encouragement to share experiences with and inspire other athletes and the general public.

The presentation of awards to outstanding people in the sports field was carried out under Presidential Regulation No. 44 of 2014 concerning Sports Awards Bestowment.

The list of award recipients is as follows:

2. Aero Sutan Anwar (jetski athlete)

3. Veda Ega Pratama (motor racer)

4. Iqbal Chandra Pratama (Pencak Silat athlete)

5. Michael Robert Mustika (boxing athlete)

6. Syaiful Rizal (Sepak Takraw/kick volleyball athlete)

7. Muhammad Hardiansyah Muliang (Sepak Takraw)

8. Abdul Halim Radjiu (Sepak Takraw)

9. Hendra Basir (rock climbing coach)

10. Dadang Haris Purnomo (bike racing coach)

11. Jalaludin (beach volleyball referee)

12. Taufik Yudi Mulyanto (lecturer)

13. Hendry Chaerudin Bangun (sports journalist)

14. Yenny Wahid (deputy secretary of the Indonesian Rock Climbing Federation)

15. Wempi W. Mawa (head of the Malinau District Youth and Sports Office)

16. Supardi Somantri (sports activist)

17. Ida Ayu Anom Purnamaningsih (sports activist)

18. Dr. Jainal Abidin Simanjuntak (sports activist)

19. Olih Liliawati Ananda Hidayat (sports activist)

20. Mansur (sports activist)

21. Sukendro (sports activist)

22. Anindya Bakrie (Indonesian Chef de Mission for the Paris Olympics)

23. Rosan Perkasa Roeslani (chairperson of the Indonesia Weightlifting Federation).
