Acting Governor of Jambi, Sudirman, noted in the provincial government's official statement here on Saturday that the Jambi provincial government will continue to explore cooperation with the Korean company so the development can comply with the applicable regulations.
He underscored the need for special discussions to be carried out in this project collaboration.
Sudirman ensured that the provincial government pays attention to cleanliness at Lake Sipin, as it will serve as a water tourism destination.
In addition, his side has involved the community around the lake in discussing the regulations related to development.
"I am discussing about the existence of regulations and technicalities and the involvement of the central, provincial, and city governments and the community. All of them must explore whether (the cooperation) is in the form of investment or direct collaboration," Sudirman remarked.
He emphasized the importance of exercising caution in implementing regulations related to tourism development.
"We must uphold the applicable regulations because no matter how good the intentions are, it will be very risky when meeting the legal process," he stressed.
Johannes, a representative of Hanha, the company in the Lake Sipin project development collaboration, stated that this collaboration aims to clean, restore, and develop Lake Sipin in stages to support economic development and environmental preservation in Jambi.
"This cooperation includes pollution and flood prevention, lake cleaning, and installing lighting around the lake to increase public interest and prepare the area as a tourist destination," he stated.
