Bogor, West Java (ANTARA) - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin stated that he will not cease his devotion to the country and the nation even after concluding his term on October 20.

He made this statement during the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a mosque and an Islamic boarding school (pesantren) in Bogor District, West Java, on Sunday.

"Although my days as vice president are numbered, my devotion should not cease," he said. "I will continue to serve endlessly."

Amin noted that one of the ways he demonstrates his steadfast devotion to the nation is through the development of Darul Amin Pesantren in the district.

"I place my utmost care in the education sector through pesantrens. I have a pesantren in Banten and will also build one here while launching the development of a mosque with support from Mr. Chairul Tanjung," he stated, referring to a renowned businessman.

On this occasion, the vice president also revealed the name he chose for the mosque: Mambaul Khair.

"Since Mr. Chairul Tanjung has older and younger siblings named Chairil and Chairal, I decided to name this mosque Mambaul Khair, which translates to 'the source of goodness.' Therefore, there will be Mambaul Khair Mosque within Darul Amin Pesantren," he pointed out.

Amin expressed hope that the incoming government led by Prabowo Subianto will sustain various programs implemented by President Joko Widodo's administration to ensure nationwide benefits.

"We hope that Mr. Prabowo's next government will continue what has been established rather than starting over entirely. It should be noted that foundations have been laid in areas such as the economy, infrastructure, and human resources," he remarked.
