MPR Speaker Ahmad Muzani conveyed the president's message at the Presidential Palace Complex here on Monday after extending an invitation to President Jokowi to attend the inauguration.
"He expressed hope that the inauguration will take place successfully because this is an event that will be attended by many VVIPs, both from friendly and neighboring countries," he remarked.
In an hour-long meeting, Muzani and eight MPR deputy speakers commended Jokowi's decade-long leadership, especially for the realization of the national leadership transition that had gone smoothly so far.
Muzani remarked that the current peaceful situation of the government's transition period should be an example to be emulated in the future.
"Us, the leaders of MPR, consider that the ongoing transition from the incumbent president to the successor president has been successful. We think this can be a prototype that can be taken as an example," he explained.

The procession will take place at the Nusantara Building of the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on October 20, 2024, at 10 a.m. local time.
