"Regarding the 15-16 ministers in the current cabinet selected by Mr. Prabowo, I think that it has gone through careful consideration and is based on his experience of getting along and interacting with them for five years," Jokowi remarked during his work visit in Aceh on Tuesday.
According to Jokowi, Prabowo's decision to choose some ministers in his cabinet reflected his commitment to sustainability.
He also commended the figures believed to have been selected by Prabowo to become his ministers in the cabinet.
"That is the prerogative of President-elect, Prabowo Subianto. We all respect whoever is chosen," Jokowi stated.
Earlier, some 49 figures, believed to be Prabowo's ministerial candidates, were summoned to meet the president-elect at his home on Kertanegara IV Street, South Jakarta, on Monday (October 14).
The figures comprised politicians, academicians, and incumbent ministers.
One of Jokowi's ministers invited to Prabowo's residence was Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto.
Hartarto said Prabowo had urged him to maintain the nation's stable economic conditions.
"During the discussion, he asked (me) to continue to maintain the economic situation which is also currently facing extraordinary challenges, and geopolitics, as well as food and energy issues that are also crucial in the current situation," the minister told the media crew on Monday.
Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati also confirmed that she has been reassigned as finance minister in Prabowo's upcoming government.
"We had a long and extensive discussion with him. He asked me to become finance minister again," Sri Mulyani stated.
